mura (Mura Matsuri)

What we're looking at today is quite a unique specimen among the all-1-stars underdogs of Taiko lore, as to date it's the only track of such a beginner-friendly lineage to have never been featured in the mainline arcade series to this very day, as well as one of three tracks from the medical rehabilitation-focused Taiko no Tatsujin RT ~Nippon no Kokoro~ (太鼓の達人RT~日本の心~) that made it into later "conventional" series entries.

Mura Matsuri has been classified both as a Variety and as a Children/Folk song, seeing as this song was made for Japan's Ministry of Education; as such, part of its birthing legacy -which is to say, its authors/origin story- is still shrouded in the unknown. For one of the Taiko no Tatsujin official livestreams (April 2015), the Mura Matsuri song has been chosen as the title of a brief 'storytime' subsection and as such, it was also put in one of the UStream viewer polls to decude new song parts for Banapassport Taiko players! ...a poll which was lost, barring the iconic melody yet another chance in some mainstream Taiko arcade spotlight of sorts!

The drum-based transition from Taiko RT to the Sony turf's Godaime/Portable 2 came with more changes than just the implementation of a full and renewed KFMO set, now fine-tuning the Japanese folk stable with some minor BPM shifts and holding 2P-exclusive chart sets on Muzukashii. This came, however, at the cost of a shorter song cut, in comparison to Mura Matsuri's debut title whose outtro is being fully played out with no fade-outs of sorts.
