Taiko no Tatsujin... Arcade Overhaul Version?

Tipped to us on our Discord server, we came back to the arcade vendor website we usually browse for upcoming arcade Taiko releases, ultimately facing the grid entry you're looking up here for a scheduled March 2020 release for the next one.

This time around, however, it looks like this is going to be a much bigger deal than usual, with a pack of new tech to mount into pre-existing Taiko cabinets for an effectively new machine! More specifically, the update kit reported here mentions the inclusion of replacement parts (monitor, system board, upper LED sign) and a game SSD/QR Reader, together with this release being just called "New Taiko no Tatsujin" instead of using the color-coded format we're used to see since the early 2010s... all of which leads us to speculate that the third Taiko arcade generation of gaming spect is about to come to an end!

Namco Taiko Blog (27 September 2019) - 5th Taiko x Touhou Collab, Some Addendums

Yesterday, we caught notice of the opening of the latest promo page about the next arcade Taiko campaign, and today we're getting a couple more details about it.

Mainly, we now know that some of the 5th Touhou Project collaboration's Donder Hiroba promo outlets (namely, the two new-elements gachas) will be launched at a later late than the collaboration's start, on October 17th. Why that date, you ask? Apparently it's because the two Reitaisai-preview songs will make their debut on public Green Version builds on the same day!

[AC0] - Taiko no Tatsujin x Touhou Project 5th Arcade Collaboration!

『東方Project』×『太鼓の達人』コラボキャンペーン第5弾

A little over a week before its beginning, the details for the recurring Autumn-start raffles for Touhou Project customizable flairs are already out, in anticipation of the songs that are going to premiere in the next Autumn Reitaisai convention.

This time around, the campaign will be run from October 3rd to November 17th!

First Video: Waraeru 2000

The latest Namco Original track from NAMCO SOUNDS talents since (what it feels like) forever is out, and it's a brand new 2000 song, no less!

While we cook up its description for the related Song Series Showcase page, feel free take a gander at a new Donkama-esque take on gibberish boss song charting patterns. It's definitely time to bounce!

At the release of the latest Taiko no Tatsujin Green ver. (Asia ver.) update, we have been alerted the sudden disappearance of unlockable songs from the Ranking Dojo. Our Donder compadres from Taiwan has emailed Bandai Namco Customer Support regarding the issue and recently received a reply. The reply confirms the disappearance as an error, and that fixes are being planned.

Twitter Snippets (25 September 2019) - Medal Shop and Song Genre Surfing

The title says it all! as of today, t+pazolite's Surf Zapping has changed its song genre (rip Synchronica mention) and it's been made available as a Katsu Medal Shop reward for those who didn't unlock it back in Blue Version with its Performance Battle mode. (what Asia version)

[UPDATE] (26/09/19) - The song genre change is not going to happen, as that was a typo on the Taiko Team Twitter guy's part. (Source)

Song of the Week! 21 September 2019

It's future song peek time.
Boy, how nice it is to have some low-hanging fruit to talk about, from time to time! *wink*

First Video: Cutie☆Demonic☆Majin Emo!!

Did someone order a 2nd serving of Yami no Mahou Shoujo? Both it and today's newcomer touch dark magic-y tones alongside a hefty, note-generous Oni notechart. While the former 9* Namco Original still trumps the note amount comparison, this one earns an extra star rating due to more complex patters in general, while still retaining the very concrete stamina-drain danger.

Cutie☆Demonic☆Majin Emo!! has also been released in the General Asia Green arcades, as documented by other people though social media (like this one)!

Twitter Snippets (20 September 2019) - Devilishly Cute Saturday Release

Tomorrow is going to be our very own nigelliusnitrox's birthday, as well as the release day of a new Namco Original tune, among other things!

Enjoy the greening return of these two artists after Ano Hi Deaeta Kiseki, a song who was part of Green Version's Day 1 newcomers track list.
