Im@s Corner: THE iDOLM@STER SHINY FESTA

Originally launched on October 25, 2012 for Playstation Portable, this is the 2nd Vision generation's first game trilogy, consisting of the titles Honey Sound (ハニー サウンド), Funky Note (ファンキー ノート) and Groovy Tune (グルーヴィー チューン).

The SHINY FESTA titles are arguably considered the first full-play rhythm games of the genre, as the customization/dancing aspects of the series take a back seat in favor of a main rhythm-based activity involving the player hitting notes with the PSP's buttons on its two sides, raising the Popularity of the idols' performance and thus clearing the stage. In Stage mode, each of the songs can be tried indidually, while the Star of Festa mode plays them all in succession as part of the game's Story mode. While a handful of songs are shared between the games, SoF storylines and selected tunes from past Im@s games are exclusive to one of the 3 versions.

On April 22, 2013, the SHINY FESTA titles were localized in other Asian areas (Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea), North America and France as iOS games, thus becoming the first games of the series who got a Western localization. Later on, the three games could be downloaded through the Playstation 3's  IM@S CHANNEL service from October of the same year, as THE iDOLM@STER Shiny Tv.

The SHINY FESTA games have had their own share of newly-made songs, with MUSIC♪ being the only pre-Must Songs released track on Taiko games.
