Namco Taiko Blog (5 January 2012) - Taiko 0 Online tournament, the rules

As promised, 2012's first blog entry is about the first Taiko online tournament, focused around the latest arcade. It looks like this one will be the first of a series of similar competitions!

In order to join the Taiko Online Tournament "Donder Festival of the New Year" (太鼓の達人 オンライン公式大会 「ドンだー祭り 新年の陣」), players with Banapassport must access their Donder Hiroba profile and subscribe themselves by clicking the button above, like what was mentioned in the blog post two weeks ago. The contest's goal is to reach the highest score in a certain map on Oni mode, within a week.

The Oni map chosen for this first tournament is Hatsune Miku no Shoushitsu -Gekijouban-. Players may input high scores for this song from January 5th (today) until January 12th. This tournament is free for all with no participation limit, but there's an early bird surprise for the first 100 contestants! If scores are tied, both players will be in the same rank and both will receive prizes where applicable.

The article ends with a surprise: another Taiko Blog post is going to be published today!
