Back in 2013, we featured the main theme from one of the 2010s' most popular series to follow with such a reach on both acclaim and secondary works to make me pen how "it just doesn't seem to end"... and even when eventually that sentiment became null and void upon such series reaching a proper conclusion, it sure take its sweet-and-swell time to reach that point!

Starting in 2020's tail end, mangaka Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan had finally reached the final story arc in animated transposition, being shouldered by a different production company (MAPPA) in comparison to the previous three seasons, which were handled by Wit Studio. The project as a whole was dubbed "The Final Season" in full English and it took the hegemonous time of three years in order to be fully broadcast at first, with parts 1 and 2 airing as regular episode-fragmented stories (Dec'20/Mar '21 for Part 1, January/April '22) and the latter two parts being "compilation episodes" as be as three regular episodes, airing respectively on March and December last year! And even still, this 3-year gap had room for noteable crossover content to nover outside its subseries scenario anyway, including a gacha game by Enish (Attack on Titan: Brave Order) and even an Eren Jaeger skin for the ever-popular FPS sensation Fortnite!

The composer of TFS Part 1's first opening theme is the Chiba-based unit Shinsei Kamattechan (神聖かまってちゃん), founded in 2007 as a self-dubbed "Internet Pop Rock Band" due to both its musical production's direction as well as their members' well-documented habit of broadcasting online many of their members' daily lives, between music production and their own livelihoods. All of the act's current and former members are mostly known by their aliases and their current setup includes leader Kaido 'Mono' Yukiya (海藤佑希也), lead vocalist Oshima 'Noko' Ryosuke (大島亮介) and drummer Suzuki 'Misako' Misako (鈴木美早子), with support bass backing from the nicknamed Yunosuke (ユウノスケ).

Boku no Senso (lit. 'My War') is Shinsei Kamattechan's latest release to date and was arranged by Megumi Unno (海野恵). The same AoT mangaka Isayama is a huge fan of their works to the point of being humbled by one of their songs being used specifically for his magnum opus's conclusion! This happened to be an "artistic mutual understanding" scenario in the end for the other party alike, as the act's members feel their musical style to be a tailor-fit match for Isakaya's world and managed to put a song that is a blend of all the styles of Shinsei Kamattechan's production to date, with the vocalist Noko novering the taxing COVID-19 pandemic period as a dire factor driving to a more dramatic genre direction for the end result. Despite being a release-less single song, Boku no Senso managed to climb the peak of both Oricon and Billboard's 'Heatseeker Songs' charts in Japan, garnering some accolades overseas years later as the victor of the 6th Crunchyroll Anime Awards as a player for 2022's "Best Opening Sequence" result accomplished by The Final Season Part 1's opening movie. Despite thig buzz-around, this song could only fill the playable music ranks of two parties this far: Taiko no Tatsujin (merely as a cover) and CHUNITHM (just don't let that background Titan distract you!).

Like the always-popular Guren no Yumiya, here we are with an 8-star Oni challenge that prides itself of pure 1/16 charting, although definitely note-light in comparison and far less available in official games thus far. As you can see from the video posted above, for a while the song's subtitle mistakenly reported 'FinalSeason' at launch, a slight error which was corrected into "The Final Season" with a minor Nijiiro patch update on November 2022.
