In the latest Taiko de Tima Travel entry, an even-bigger leap back in time occurs as we see two brick-stable Buddhist giants duking it out against each other! Someone's muscle heart must be beating once more in order to make it happen..

Taiko Team leader Etou, being usually quiet about one of these commemorative songs' beginnings to let its authors do the talking, breaks the silence by revealing the song's theming drive for this one track: what if the Kyoto prefecture's Byodo-in temple and the Kanagawa prefecture's Choju-ji temple were giant mosters? How would a battle with such prominent kaiju-tier titans play out? By admission of the same Etou, only IOSYS talents could be able to bring such a crazy scenario to life!
Given the song's general framing, composer Yuya Kobayashi further elaborates on the idea's development ultimately turning into a fight against the Byodo-in Phoenix and the Chouju-ji warrior squad being called upon to stop such a threat, in a Super Sentai-ish fashion. Being given creative freedom over the project, he also though to write a commercial break in-between! In order to give a Heian-shaped print onto the song, lyricist Yoshimi Youno (夕野ヨシミ) put in a lot of archaic-tone terms and expressions (almost making out half of its lyrics body!), with Alternative Ending's miko testing her vocal range in many a way throughout the piece.
The charter of the latest Taiko de Time Travel stepping stone is Emukepi (えむけぴ), working on each of its modes. The charting mantra for this work of his was "a musical score that parents and children can enjoy together, no matter if they're current-generation relatives, 2nd-gen ones, 3rd-gen ones or further-down ancestors", so a really simple charting approch by lyrics and color association was chosen to make up the easier-reading comprehension gap. If the Byodo-in Houou-Don makes its move in the lyrics, make way for the full-red, Don-centric section; let it be a flow of Kat-based patterns whereas the Choju-ji Ga-Katsu squad makes its move, and mix the two colors when the two finally clash together in the lyrics! Emukepi himself has been through a long trial-and-error process in order to create more and more challenging charts that play around the similar concept, so he hopes that its players of all skill levels will be able to enjoy the color-based charting approach that -according to the same charter- is said to be the origin of fun in Taiko no Tatsujin.
The ongoing year has yet to receive one more Taiko de Time Travel piece, one which changed its time-framing period from 'BCxxxx' to a more generic "Ancient Times". The one artist taking us for such a journey is none other than the infamous Linda AI-CUE, ready to take off after being absent for what it feels being "a hundred million and two-thousand years away" since the last time.
If this isn't enough of a hint for you on what to expect next, I don't know what it is...
