Yorushika's first Taiko license comes in two different Oni flavors, one going on par with Circle of Season's rating with a backbeat-based chart and an harder Ura Oni whose deployment of many compound clusters and hitballoons might point this as the Pops genre's easier take on Many wow bang!'s Ura Oni.
For today's main event, we have the latest quartet of seasonal Rewards Shop unlockable, all from the latest Taiko contest's winners pool. Each of these tracks is also the finishing piece of one of the final four Ranking Dojo courses, no less!
The new Kurouto course's finisher comes from a series-newcomer artist, whose tricky rhythms are translated with multiple tempo signatures across the board. The scrolling speed at play here, though, makes it quite hard to visually demarkate each of the single changes, so a keen hearing will be the most useful skill to guide the more accurate plays!
Taking his revenge after two Taiko song contest defeats, BlackY stands tall as the Meijin course's final gatekeeper with this vocals-powered piece. The cold-consumed dish is far sweeter, considering that it also got one unprecedented feat from all the preceeding Taiko contest winners: an Ura Oni mode!
What has been a scrolling-nerfed aggressive rock piece with many small, even-notes clusters on Oni, quickly turns into a far more vicious speed demon on its Ura counterpart, easily making it a harder take on such rock-speed scrolling juggernauts like Namco Original Tabaneito.
The Ura Oni path, however wasn't a single-istance accident among the first Faith Creation winners' raid, as today's two remaining songs also got one!
Se-U-Ra's debut Taiko piece already rings quite difficulty with a 1/12-focused charts not very dissimilar to Metal Hawk BGM1 with more speed and no nasty branching-path surprises. What awaits players at the end of Nijiiro's Choujin chourse, however, is a far more aggressive take starring many a 1/24 cluster intertwined between uninterrupted charting in its busiest sections, taking Toryu Ura's signature difficulty jump in a more commonbase occurrence.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet your next Tatsujin nightmare! Returning composer CHUBAY sits atop of the Ranking Dojo difficulty chain with his VIXTORY's Ura Oni mode, rated 10* with the regular Oni just like Hakanaki wa Gensho ni Mau. It's all fun and games until you have to tackle multiple in-stream tempo changes at a BPM value exceeding 240... especially when you got such an astronomical note count and so many 1/24 spikes at your side!
