With their ties with game and toy makers, CoroCoro Comics frequently gets dibs on exclusive initial scoop for Taiko no Tatsujin and other kid-friendly games... as always. They did one for AI Performance Battle last year.
Just one weekend before the release of the next generation of arcade Taiko no Tatsujin, the CoroCoro editorial again got an exclusive hands-on experience of the new version (special version with a heavily cut song list) for their YouTube channel, but not at any Bandai Namco locations... They got a cabinet hauled to an actual wadaiko performance dojo and slipped in a few wadaiko demonstrations first by a professional wadaiko player, before engaging the pro at a two-player match using Hyakka Ryouran Futsuu (again).
Here are a few outstanding observations:
- 10-combo and 30-combo calls (unknown if exclusive to lower difficulties)
- silver (10-29) and gold (30+) combo numbers (unknown if number is exclusive to lower difficulties)
- approximate points for the first few Score Ranks: 50k for white Iki, 60k for bronze Iki, 70k for silver Iki and 80k for gold Miyabi
