Heads up, we are going to tease one upcoming new song for the Taiko no Tatsujin series, all from publicly available clues dated up to almost two years back. The journey begins after the jump for the curious ones.
本日、バンダイナムコさんで打ち合わせ。なんと「太鼓の達人」にパール兄弟、曲書きます!乞うご期待!みんなでドドンドンドンやっとくれ〜!! pic.twitter.com/P4HnJuHqtM— パール兄弟公式 (@pearl_bro30th) December 7, 2017
The earliest piece of evidence dates back to December 2017, where the musical group Pearl Brothers (パール兄弟, with activity as early as 1983) announces, with a snap in front of the Bandai Namco headquarters, that the group is to write music for the Taiko no Tatsujin series. The production process is subsequently featured in the in-studio snapshots of two of the members with the drum brothers and tweet from Taiko Team's music producer Yoshinori Kawamoto/Kawagen up to January 2018.
Album jacket for Aruki Love
Fast forward to 2019, where the group released a new mini-album titled Aruki Love (歩きラブ) on June 19 (example press release via Natalie Music). In both press releases of the release and description for the official preview of the headlining song, it is specifically mentioned that there is "one unannounced song created for music game, included as bonus track" (音ゲーのために制作された未発表1曲をボーナストラックとして収録). And the title of that bonus track is:
Taiko no Tatsujin New Song... eventually

(@kawagen) June 9, 2019
This song is mentioned again (unnamed) in another of Kawagen's tweets about the release of HONOKA's Bokura no Mae ni Michi wa Aru on Nintendo Switch Version, since the song's composer Tooru Okada (岡田徹) also previously produced some of Pearl Brothers' earlier albums.
As a side note, this song can already be found listed in the J-WID works database of JASRAC, Japan's largest musical copyright administration society, under Works Code/作品コード: 246-1570-6. The entry gives us no additional information for now, but feel free to check that out.
(NB. A lot of other Taiko no Tatsujin songs both new and old are also in there; just search "太鼓の達人" as Works Title/作品タイトル)
That said, there is currently no word of which game the song is going to be included in. Stay tuned for the official release announcement.
