Namco Taiko Blog (14 March 2011) - 10th Anniversary Countdown delay

As Taiko fans might remember, the countdown for Taiko no Tatsujin's 10th anniversary on the Donder home page will end tomorrow, on March 17th. And it would have been a glorious celebration, but with the recent disasters in Japan, no one there is in any mood to celebrate.

With high compassion and spirit of condolence, the Taiko Team has postponed the celebrations due to the devastating earthquake/tsunami which struck Honshu, Japan on March 11, flattening many cities and towns. n humble message was sent out on both the Donder homepage and as a blog post, as a tribute to all the victims of the disaster.

The Donder page is still fully functional, but lacks any semblance of festival spirit. Talk about lousy timing, but nature knows no mercy.

In other unrelated news, the composer Tatsh -probably the real identity of Zeami, the composer of the No Mai songs (based on fan observations) - like most other Japanese, also wanted to express his feelings about this tragic event with a song. As its title suggests (Hope, 希望, or pronounced as 'kibou'), we all hope that this big nightmare will end soon for Japan and all its unfortunate victims.
