Song of the Week! 2 February 2019

This year will see for this feature line the coming of songs that can be officially played with the oh-so-familiar Taiko no Tatsujin gameplay... only to be playable in actual non-Taiko games.

Have the first of these today!

Introduced on March 2017 as the latest tie-in campaign between the Taiko no Tatsujin and Idolm@ster IPs, the Dondoko Paradise (どんどこパラダイス) mode, starring the usual Taiko gameplay mechanics, was made available for the original Cinderella Girls mobile title, with only three songs being available from Kantan to Muzukashii mode settings. Two of these (Onegai! Cinderella and Star!!) were already available in the mainstay dtrumming series and simply inherited the pre-existing custom song cut and notechart schemes, while today's featured SotW track was a totally elusive and brand new affair... so elusive, in fact, that the song is not available in actual Taiko games to this day!

Composed by Go Sakabe (坂部剛) and lyricized by Shio Watanabe (渡部紫緒), Take me☆Take you is a track whose singers are the voice actresses of the top-ranked idols in the first Cinderella Girls mobile game's 5th General Election, tallying down the three highest-ranked idols from each of the three idol attributes -Cute, Cool and Passion- and thus ending up with a 9-singers roster for this song.  The 5th election's highest ranked idols for the Cute type are the overall 5th-election-winner Uzuki Shimamura (CV: Ayaka Ohashi), Nana Abe (CV: Marie Miyake) and Miku Maekawa (CV: Natsumi Takamori); for the Cool category we have Kaede Takagaki (CV: Saori Hayami), Miyu Mifune (CV: Sayaka Harada) and Nono Morikubo (CV: Karin Takahashi), while the Passion type's Top 3 idols are Yoshino Yorita (CV: Yuuki Takada) Mio Honda (CV: Sayuri Hara) and Shin Sato (CV: Yumiri Hanamori).

The resulting song has also received a physical release as a single -titled THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER Take me☆Take you- on November 16th, 2016, containing the other 5th-General-Election song as well (Kimi no Soba de Zutto). Needless to say, Take me☆Take you was also ported some time later into Starlight Stage (link), the actual Cinderella Girls-labeled music game!

While the plain 1/16 notecharting that is par to the course with other contemporary Muzukashii charts of the same rating in songs from mainstay Taiko games, we can surely have more to talk about the visual apparel of this side mode in action: for this side mode, our reliable Don-chan has its outfit and hit-soul spirits fixed for all songs to match the looks of Pinyakorata, a green cat-like plushie loved by Cinderella Girls idol Honoka Ayase. The main custom dancers trio for the mode match the game's New Generation idol unit's members in the aforementioned Uzuki Shimamura, Mio Honda and Rin Shibuya; however, nearly all the other featured idols are different from the CG custom dancer sets in Taiko titles thus far! Alas, however, no additional sound effects seem to be featured in this side mode...
