Namco Taiko Blog (10 September 2018) - September's Major Blue Version Update

This coming Thursday, Blue Version arcades in Japan get updated with a new selection of added contents to enjoy! While it's hilarious how the official Taiko media still fails to mention the subtle licensed addition of last week, let's see what's new this time around...

-) Base Songlist Additions and New Unlockable Kigurumi Outfits

Blue ver. Version Update: September 13th, 2018

Whether you're a Banapassport player or not, these two tracks will be available for everyone to enjoy! On top of that, Banapassport players can also get some new videogame-themed Kigurumi gear by clearing the Splatoon 2 Medley and Jump Up, Super Star! Short Version, as shown in the picture below.

-) Performance Battle Mode's First Limited Boss Campaign

From this Thursday to October 17th, Performance Battle players have a chance to fight the evil clown Maou from the first Nintendo 3DS Taiko game's Story mode, as part of the so-called Maou Crushing Event @ Performance Battle (マオウ討伐イベント@演奏バトル) campaign. Marvelous rewards await the players that are up to the challenge!

From the mode's Stage 2 onwards, the enemies will have a chance to leave behind a silver treasure chest as battle drop loot, containing shards of the Magical Jade (ふしぎ玉) item inside.

Upon hitting certain thresholds of Magical Jade through multiple plays (with one of these seemingly being 100, as shown here), a couple of time-limited rewards will be granted as separate unlocks: the Refractory Fire (はっちゃけファイアー) deathblow for the mode companion character Amitie and the song Maou no Showtime. Unlocking it will also make available the time-limited showdown against Maou!

This laughing opponent will use screen-obscuring tactics just like in his debut Taiko game, but the players that will manage to defeat him before the event's end will get a special title. Whether you defeat him or not in this battle, the previously-unlocked limited perks will be yours to keep!

This coming Thursday will also mark the coming of a new Rewards Shop lineup, only consisting of the four songs displayed above. Hit up the separate blog entry about the next Rewards Shop to take a listen of the featured tracks' preview clip!

As a final notice from No.11, while all the content showcased in today's blog entry is bound to hit General Asia Taiko arcades nearly as soon as Japan does, it will take some more time to apply the new Rewards Shop rotation.
