Namco Taiko Blog (9 May 2013) - Dojo Ranking mode's new clothes

First highscores and DonChare come back, then online tourneys, and the final networking feature from Katsu-Don makes a return in Sorairo, the Dojo Challenge (段位道場) mode, and today the Taiko Team shares what's new this time.

Basically, the Dojo Ranking update covers three aspects:

1) Number of Dojo Courses

On the KATSU-DON firmware, this mode featured only five courses, featuring Oni (or Ura Oni) sets of songs with increasing difficulty. The Taiko Team wants to make the list of challenges bigger for the next update, so expect to see this list grow larger!

2) New in-game layouts

Replacing the old K-D design, a brand new graphical layout will be introduced to the Dojo Ranking, creating a big difference with the regular play mode. The image above shows the new layout (with the usual watercolor blur to cover details).

3) New prizes and clearing conditions

Rather than unlocking new titles for Banapassport users, this rebranded arcade challenge offers a different kind of reward: an evolving costume! 'Evolving' is a bit of a misnomer, as it's basically a set of costumes that get more and more complex with each level you pass in the Dojo. The old titles will still remain, but now there's even more of a reason to grind the Dojo Challenge mode!

Obviously the new courses will feature new clearing conditions in order to spice up the game. Think you have enough skill to pass the new arcade challenge issued by Namco?
