While the Microsoft-debuting Taiko game is not about to be the next water-cooler, it sure broke new Gen4 graounds by launching with the first console-debuting Game Music tracks in years! One of the two is for a Bandai Namco Summer game of theirs from last year, too...

The end-result of a collaborative effort between Pac-Man's software house and Tose, Scarlet Nexus is an Action RPG that was released worldwide on June 25th, both for home computers as well as past-gen and current-gen systems of the Sony and Microsoft console families. Set in an alternate-reality world where society has advanced through substances that are found inside the human brain, the world is at peril due to the attacks of aggressive mutated creatures known as the Others. In the game, players fill the shoes of a member of the Other Suppression Force between Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall, both protecting the city of New Himuka both with conventional weaponry and their unique psychokinetic skills, enabling them to move objects to their advantage and to learn skills by virtue of the allies they meet in their everyday struggles. Scarlet Nexus also launched alongside an animated series of the same name by Sunrise, spanning 26 episodes between July and December of the last year.

Behind Incompatible Thoughts is the ex-Tose composer Hayata Takeda (竹田隼大), formerly behind the score of 2016's World of Final Fantasy by Square-Enix. His craft in Taiko is handled as a Don-dominant charting job not that dissimilar to Guren no Yumiya in regards of the charting style, taking the upper-hand with more notes to hit and a 1/12 diversion near the end.
