Taiko Time 9th Anniversary Quiz: The Questions and Side Tournament

What would a Taiko Time Anniversary be without its Anniversary Quiz extravaganza (except the 5th Anniversary)? Here comes the 2019 edition!

To open, we are aware that the participation for the last three quizzes has been... faltering. This year we are changing the format up and tuning down the stakes, making this a fun-for-all activity instead of the ultimate battle of the wits.

There are nine questions in this year's quiz. All question except Question 9 are four-option multiple choice questions. Instead of having to submit your own individual full answer like before, we ask you to answer in Twitter polls to be posted one by one across the coming weeks. Feel free to participate in one or multiple of these polls, and see how well you stack up in Taiko trivia compared with the whole community.

Question 9 is the only open-ended question in this quiz, and also where we are holding a side tournament. See that question for full details on how to submit your results.

The answers to the quiz and the results of the tournament will be released on October 9. Good luck to all.

Question 9: This is the side-tournament question. Before all, figure out which song these statements refer to:
  • The song has an Ura Oni notechart that has 33.9% more notes than the regular Oni notechart.
  • Being for the tournament question, we made sure the song is included in six different games, and that at least one of its inclusions is available outside Japan (even if it is paid DLC), so that more people can play.
  • While the song has multiple similarly-titled brethrens by the same composer in other music/rhythm game franchises, the song we are talking about was not actually titled by the composer.

If you think you got it and want to join in the side tournament, follow these steps:
  1.  Play the song on any officially-released Taiko no Tatsujin game on any difficulty
  2. Take a photo/screenshot of your results, or a video of your play
  3. Send the image/video link via Direct Message to our Twitter handle @taikotimeblog on or before October 4 2019
Additional notes:
  • Each difficulty is considered a separate department of the tournament
  • Please limit to one submission per difficulty per person, but feel free to participate on multiple difficulties if you want
  • By submitting any result to the tournament, you are assumed to agree to us including your Twitter handle in the upcoming results post. If you want to be known as another name, please say so in your submission
