Namco Taiko Blog (June 4 2015) - Finale de la 3DS2 DLC, and What's the Deal with Idolm@ster Notechart Revamp

Double blog posts today! We check out the (sadly) final 3DS2 DLC, and Etou giving a full account on why and how Idolm@ster has and will be (re)-introduced as of the recent antics.

Making the first part quick: June's DLC line-up is exactly the same as it was leaked last midnight. The only major difference is that Kirame Kirari is going to have a new Ura notechart! Or not actually new, as our second post will reveal. Still, enjoy the list!

June 4:  魔法をかけて! Mahou o Kakete!
June 11:  キルミーのベイベー! Kill Me no Baby!
June 18:  キラメキラリ Kirame Kirari (+Ura)
June 18:  TRUTH
June 25:  自分REST@RT Jibun REST@RT (+Ura)

The second post is a longer piece detailing the intentions to revamp notecharts and the whereabouts of the new and old notecharts from here on out. We'll not butcher the sentiments here and just summarize generally.

A quick recap for those who were not in the know: currently ongoing on Murasaki ver. is a large collaboration marking the 10th anniversary of the Idolm@ster franchise(s) and 15th anniversary for Taiko no Tatsujin. And with that a lot of Idolm@ster songs are adding to celebrate including three returning songs but with completely revamped notecharts. Also at similar timing are other previously-includes songs making revamped appearances in other games.

While the Taiko Team thinks a revamp is rightfully in order, seeing some of the notecharts are as old as 10 years old and is not in league with Donders' ever-improving skills, many Donders also reflect that the old notecharts are still memorable to them, and would like to see them also revived.

And such, considering Donders' opinions, the Team has decided to add back the old notecharts (Oni only) as Ura notecharts in all games wherever possible. Specifically Murasaki ver.'s THE IDOLM@STER, Mahou o Kakete! and shiny smile will be done in a future update, as well as in 3DS2's Kirame Kirari DLC (above). The already released GO MY WAY!! and Mahou o Kakete! on 3DS2, however, could not be changed due to obstacles (with the DLC system?).
