Namco Taiko Blog (10 April 2013) - Sorairo Version's first firmware update

The beginning of this year's Spring season has been pretty quiet for the Taiko gaming front, but an upcoming firmware update for the current arcade will surely make the wait a little more bearable.

Coming next week on April 18th, Sorairo Version's Game Version 1.08 will bring a lot of little changes and new stuff to the current arcade firmware. What's new this time?

1) New songs!

Three new licensed songs will be added to Sorairo's songlist:
  • J-Pop Dance My Generation by Golden Bomber
  • Anime VAMOLA! Kyoryuger (VAMOLA!キョウリュウジャー), from Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger
  • Anime Happy Go Lucky! Dokidoki! Precure (Happy Go Lucky! ドキドキ!プリキュア), from Dokidoki! Precure

Dance My Generation's debut to Taiko was already rumored with the latest SongID leak from Taiko PSP DX's Spring 2013 DLC songs, but the arcade will be the first to have the song. Some new 2 player Ura notecharts will be added to some songs too.

2) Golden Bomber Fever!

Speaking of Golden Bomber, the brand new Dance By Generation will feature the Golden Bomber custom dancers already featured in the PSP DX DLC pack, this time with an even flashier background! Memeshikute is also retrofitted with the new graphics. By clearing one of the two Golden Bomber songs, the same mask costume on PSP DX will be available for arcade goers.

3) Donder Hiroba updates!

Sorairo's Version 1.08 will allow players to join tournaments and set challenges with another modifier: the Omakase (おまかせ) mode, which randomly chooses any combination of modifiers from the four categories on the arcade (speed mods, Doron, Abekobe, or Random) for the player. It will only be available on Donder Hiroba and not as an actual modifier in the game

4) Bug/Scoring fixes!

The firmware update will also fix some pesky bugs occuring in specific songs, like Kechadon 2000's faulty Oni forked paths (the second time this song has been plagued with the same bug, the first occasion being Taiko Wii 1) and Rotter Tarmination Ura's score will be lowered.
