Sonority Scouts - Hakurei Shrine's Autumn Troopers / 2018 Edition

(...yes, it's still this Spring edition's logo. I can't find the current one...)

The Taiko series is back in the game for making an appearance at the Hakurei Shrine Reitasai and -as expectable- the other music game competitors are also coming up with some Touhou-related content to celebrate, either at the convention itself or in the public arcade grounds. Wanna take a look?

Arguably the major opposing competitor to Konami's SOUND VOLTEX for the 'King of Touhou' title in music gaming, Taito's Groove Coaster 1-ups the aforementioned rival my coming back to this Autumn's Reitasai edition, while also backing it up with a public October event that mostly stars Touhou songs. If you like musical arrangements from either Lunarian rabbit themes or Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom songs, this is most certainly the event for you!

Rest assured that the Reitasai attenders can try all the new songs in advance, prior to their public outings.

This timearound, Sega is attending the jolly Reitasai convention with three different arcade music games, while also selling some exclusive Touhou merchandise on the side, as shown above. Other kinds of goods from Sega music gaming are available as well!

For what concerns the veterans, both maimai and CHUNITHM had Touhou-themed song updates, with the former getting (among other things) the Beat Mario arrange of Groove Coaster boss-song fame and the latter nabbing one of the many Cirno's Perfect Math Class arrangements that were made for the IOSYS song's 10th anniversary.

A bigger deal of attention, however, has to be put on Ongeki (オンゲキ), Sega's newcomer music game series. One of the arcade's major features is its peculiar character-selection roster for the game, engaged by players in the off-chance that they can get their own special card from the arcade machine itself beforehand. Said cards can be used to summon up to three characters at your side, ready to unleash their skills and aid you clearing Ongeki's hardest trials.

The tweet you're looking at is for Ongeki's latest event which, as you may guess from the Reitasai theme of this post, it's Touhou related. Until October 18th, the arcade will have a chance to give out the card of a Touhou character from the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil by playing any of the Touhou songs in a credit. with a chance of getting the SSR card variants of the Scarlet vampire sisters.

Autumn Reitasai attenders of this year can also obtain an SR card of Hakurei Reimu for free, as this tweet testifies!
