[SITE] - Old Official Taiko Media Closing Down (and what this means for us)

Not even a full 2-weeks period away from Summer's end, we're facing yet another removal-related stunt on the Internet that has quite the huge impact on a good chunk of our former features, covering the grounds from our humble beginnings up until 2-3 years ago. Without any official notice from any of the Taiko games' currently-active staff, a lot of official pages about Taiko gaming have been removed from the Internet for good; we can give you a rudimentary extimation of the losses scouted thanks to the help of the users over our Taiko no Tatsujin Discord group.

In short, the official media being impacted by the full removal action are the following:
  • The former Taiko no Tatsujin Official Development Blog, both the News (Don-chan) pages as well as the Lyrics (Kat-chan) posts;
  • The Monthly Desktop Calendar Download pages (the milestone-related wallpapers and the Taiko Wii 2 minigame rewards are still up online, for some reason).
What this means for us is that every blog post we made on Taiko Time that stars one of the images from the former branch of the official Taiko blog is now gone for good; therefore, expect to see a lot of broken-image links if you're about to go on a reading backlog.

While we're going to look after the actual scope of removals in the near future for what can be accounted as our "damage report" (as well as further progressing the Summer housecleaning being previously announced), this is our stance on our formerly-active content, for the time being:
  • The emergency fixes that we're going to apply in the coming days will only occur for what we believe to be the permanent "core sections" of our website ('How To Play' pages, song lists, selected features and so on);
  • The Downloads corner (part of the 'Others' section) will remain as it is for the time being, until the full scope of the damage has been profiled;
  • We're not going to remove our previously-released "not-permanent" blog pages which are based on content coming from the former Taiko no Tatsujin blog (mainly, the former Namco Taiko Blog news entries covered by us); the broken image links, however, will stay as they are.
We apologize in advance for such readability issues being out of our fixing reach, but we'll do as best as we can to make so that the most active corners of this blog will stay as visually-captivating as usual, despite the amount of content that we have just lost with the old Taiko blog's removal.
