HORI's Taiko Controller Pro: More Info and Now Accepts Pre-order

A report from Famitsu gives us more info on the newest model of Taiko Controller, manufactured by HORI. The controller set, officially named Taiko no Tatsujin Exclusive Controller Pro., is expected to be put up for sale this summer at 29,800 yen (tax included), and is open for pre-order at HORI's web store now.

Interested? See below for more info before you decide!

First, the drum itself. At approximately 36cm×30cm×12cm and weighing in at about 2.5kg, the more robust build should make it more sturdy in play. If you hate the excessive wobbling from hitting on the much lighter bundled drum, this new build may appeal to you. In fact, a direct size comparison reveals just that.

The base is freely adjustable to 30°, 45° or 55° angles, to create your desired position. The design also provides spots to place the sticks and the Wiimote.

The sticks are specially designed to prevent slipping, while being decently lightweight at only 70g each. The mat is also anti-slip and is able to absorb vibration and noise.

If you still cannot imagine how this controller plays, HORI also has an example gameplay video of a prototype, playing Yuujou Pop on Wii U1.
