Taiko Time 2nd Anniversary quiz!

Hello everyone! Taiko Time blog turns 2 today, and to celebrate it we are once again giving you a fun activity to do and in exchange for your support, we are giving away a free desktop wallpaper to anyone who participates!

We are organizing another fun quiz, and this time it is divided into three different activities, each with seven questions! All you have to do is send the answers for each of them to either me (pikaby@gmail.com) or Lokamp's (cim22@fastwebmail.it) email addresses and we'll count the points! Regardless of whoever wins, everyone who participates will get a fanmade Taiko 3DS desktop wallpaper...preview below!

Featuring Don-chan, Raruko and Princess Soprano! (1366x768, ask for a different ratio size if you need it)

You have until August 11th 2012 to submit your answers to us and we will announce the results soon after!

And now without further ado, here is our 2nd anniversary quiz!

Questions

1) Name seven songs on Taiko 0 which don't fit into any particular song groups to earn a title, counting those before the July 2012 update (for example, the titles for "play only 2000 songs" or "play only songs with Katakana fonts" etc.). At least three songs must not be Namco Original songs.
2) Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Dororon! Youkai Daikessen wasn't the first console game to congratulate the most skilled players for FCing every song on every difficulty in the game (link). Prior to this, there was another console Taiko that did the same thing. Which game is it and what did you have to do to see the message?
3) Some J-Pop songs in Taiko name the source of the song instead of the artist, eg. a song in the list is the opening theme for a Japanese drama series or used in a TV advertisement. One popular J-Pop song has no source, but suddenly gained one after 2011. Which song is this?
4) Which four Namco Originals are available for Joysound Karaoke, and which is the fifth one currently being requested?
5) Which song has four balloon notes in a row with each one requiring one additional hit than the previous one?
6) ...Oh, hello again! Thanks for the help you gave me for recognizing that song last year. But right now I have another unknown pattern to decode, but my PC is quite rusty... Here is what I can remember for it:

-) Nearly 34% of notes here were Kat notes,
-) Its maximum score is 763K points (with all 良) in one of its game appearances,
-) There are 5 drumrolls here. And I swear one of those was bigger than the others...

Have you got any ideas about this one?

7) There is another series of games with 'no Tatsujin' in its name, also made by Namco, and has gameplay that has nothing to do with Taiko. What is this series?

And also, one bonus question!

See that little 2nd anniversary picture I whipped up at the top of this post? I have hidden another one like it in one of our old blog posts, and it is up to you to find it and tell me where it is! Here's a hint:

As Taiko fans, we have all used pens as imaginary Taiko sticks before.

Good luck and have fun everyone!

  4. It can be any portion of the song.

Which makes this ridiculously fucking hard, even harder than last year's

  5. I immediately recognize song 4. That song is so ear-wormy.

The trick is to go by visual cues other than just strictly the notechart/combo count.

The questions look harder this time, since it looks like I have to rely on other sources besides this blog and the osu!taiko forum.

  8. Even harder than before. :( But I don't care. :D I'll answer.

  9. For question 1, since Katsu-don incorporates titles which require you to play every genre a specific amount of time to get different titles, that means all songs fall under a group.

    1. Unless those "play [insert genre] blah times" don't count, that question doesn't have any possible answers.

    2. Read the question again, it counts the titles from before Katsu-Don.

    3. OK then. The way it was worded, it seemed like it was saying titles from Katsu-Don and the versions before it.
